I create a lesson using the following:
- Define objective of lesson
- Grouping of students for instruction
- Teaching methods that will be used, incorporating the learning styles, learning modalities, and multiple intelligence of students in my class.
- Plan specific activities making sure there sufficient time.
- Consider the curricular materials such as textbooks, teaching guides, kits, models, visuals aids, etc.
- Accommodations for specific students, like those that are gifted, ADD or ADHD, learning disabled, visually or perceptually challenged etc.
- Evaluation and assessment of each student learning style.

- Place Value in Whole Numbers a 4th grade math lesson from the unit Using Numbers and Organizing Data out of the Everyday Mathematics series
- Filling our Suitcase on the Web was a lesson I adapted from the 4th grade unit The Regions of the United States Scott Foresman Social Studies curriculum in order to expose the students to the internet resources
- To help students write I provide worksheets which ask questions. First the class goes over the worksheets and then they have time to complete them in class. The following is a set of worksheets for personal narrative writing.
